İSTILACI ŞIMŞIR GÜVESI (CYDALIMA PERSPECTALIS (WALKER) (LEPIDOPTERA: CRAMBIDAE, SPILOMELINAE)’NIN TÜRKIYE’NIN DOĞU AKDENIZ BÖLGESINDE UZUN YAPRAKLI ŞIMŞIR (BUXUS BALEARICA) TÜRÜ ÜZERINDEKI ZARARINA İLIŞKIN İLK TESPITLER
Abstract
Doğu Asya kökenli istilacı şimşir güvesi (Cydalima perspectalis) (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae, Spilomelinae) Türkiye’de ki varlığı ilk kez 2011 yılında tespit edilmiş olup hızla yayılmaya başlamıştır. 5 yıl içerisinde tüm Karadeniz Bölgesindeki doğal şimşir alanlarına, park ve bahçelerdeki şimşirlere arız olmuştur. Son olarak Cydalima perspectalis türünün Hatay ili, Dörtyol ilçesinde Buxus sempervirens L. türünde zararı tespit edilmiştir. Mayıs ve Kasım 2021 tarihleri arasında uzun yapraklı şimşir (Buxus balearica Lam.) üzerinde Adana-Kozan ilçesindeki doğal yayılış sahalarında ve iki farklı noktada Cydalima perspectalis arızı gözlemlenmiştir. Bu araştırma ile Türkiye’de doğal yayılış gösteren şimşirlerden Buxus sempervirens türünde görülen şimşir güvesi ilk kez Buxus balearica türünde de tespit edilmiştir.

FIRST RECORDS OF THE DAMAGE BY THE INVASIVE BOX TREE MONTH (CYDALIMA PERSPECTALIS) (WALKER) (LEPIDOPTERA: CRAMBIDAE, SPILOMELINAE) ON THE BALEARIC BOXWOOD (BUXUS BALEARICA) IN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN OF TURKEY
Abstract
Native to East Asia, invasive box tree moth (Cydalima perspectalis) was first recorded in Turkey in 2011. Since its first record, the species has been widespread in parks, gardens and natural populations of common boxwood areas in the Black Sea Region of Turkey within a 5-year time frame. The devastating damage of Cydalima perspectalis was lastly recorded on Buxus sempervirens from Dörtyol district of Hatay city, the most southern part of Turkey. The pest was recently seen on natural populations of Balearic boxwood (Buxus balearica), distributed in Kozan district of Adana city, Eastern Mediterranean of Turkey, in two different locations between May and November 2021. With this current study, among the naturally occurring boxwood species in Turkey, the previously recorded box tree moth on Buxus sempervirens was also, for the first time, confirmed on Buxus balearica.
