A study on Gymnodamaeus Kulczynski, 1902 (Acari, Oribatida, Gymnodamaeidae) species

Abstract

Gymnodamaeus Kulczynski, 1902 species, i.e. G. bicostatus (C.L. Koch, 1835) and G.
barbarossa Weigmann, 2006, found in soil and litter collected from Bolu province are evaluated from systematic
viewpoint to contribute to the knowledge of the Turkish
oribatid mite fauna. Of these, Gymnodamaeus barbarossa
Weigmann, 2006 is a new record for the Turkish fauna. On the basis of
the collected material, the characteristic
features of two species determined are examined by scanning electron
microscope.

Abstract

Türkiye oribatid akar faunasına katkı sağlamak amacıyla Bolu ilinden
toplanan toprak ve döküntüde bulunan Gymnodamaeus Kulczynski,
1902 türleri yani G.
bicostatus (C.L. Koch, 1835) ve G. barbarossa Weigmann,
2006, taksonomik bakımdan değerlendirildi. Bu türlerden Gymnodamaeus barbarossa Weigmann, 2006 Türkiye faunası için yeni
kayıt olarak belirlendi. Belirlenen her iki türün tanıtıcı özellikleri tarama
elektron mikroskobu kullanılarak örneklerimiz üzerinden incelendi.
