Abstract

The distribution, epidemic and damage rate of Coenorrhinus (Rhynchites) cribripennis (Desbrochers) (Coleoptera: Attelabidae) was determined by conducting survey studies in olive orchards of Eastern Mediterranean Region between 2006 and 2009. Fruit samples were collected from all surveyed orchards to determine the damage of C. cribripennis adults on olive fruit. Twenty fruits from randomly choosen 5 trees in each orchard, i.e. totally 100 fruits were controlled. C. cribripennis was gathered by hundred stroke method and then its adults were counted in these orchards. This study indicated that in 2008, epidemic rate of C. cribripennis was found as 45%, 17%, 7%, 7%, 2% and 0% in Osmaniye, Adana, Kahramanmaraş, Mersin, Hatay, Gaziantep and Kilis, respectively. The highest damage rate of C. cribripennis on fruits was found in Osmaniye with 19%, followed by Kahramanmaraş with 6%, Adana with 4.8%, Hatay with 0.4%, Mersin with 0.3%, Gaziantep with 0.01% and Kilis with 0%. The number of holes opened by the feeding of the pest per fruit varied from 1 to 28. In 2009, epidemic rate of C. cribripennis was found as 30% in Osmaniye, 26% in Adana, 25% in Hatay and 17% in Mersin. The highest damage rate of C. cribripennis on fruits was found in Osmaniye with 21.5%, followed by Adana with 3.7%, Mersin 2% and Hatay 0.9%. The number of holes opened by the feeding of the pest per fruit varied from 1 to 72.

Abstract

Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi zeytin bahçelerinde 2006-2009 yılları arasında yürütülen sürvey çalışmaları ile Coenorrhinus (Rhynchites) cribripennis (Desbrochers) (Coleoptera: Attelabidae)'in yayılışı, bulaşıklık ve zarar oranı belirlenmiştir. Zeytin meyvelerindeki C. cirbripennis erginlerinin zararını tespit etmek amacıyla, sürvey yapılan tüm zeytin bahçelerinden meyve örnekleri alınmıştır. Sürvey yapılan her bahçeden rasgele seçilen beş ağaçtan yirmişer meyve olmak üzere toplam yüz meyve kontrol edilmiştir. Ayrıca her bahçede yüz darbe yöntemiyle toplanan ergin C. cribripennis sayıları kaydedilmiştir. Bu çalışma ile C. cribripennis'inzeytin bahçelerindekibulaşıklık oranı 2008 yılında; Osmaniye'de %45, Adana'da %27, Kahramanmaraş'ta %17, Mersin ve Hatay'da %7, Gaziantep'te %2, Kilis'de %0 olarak bulunmuştur. C. cribripennis'in meyvelerdeki zarar oranı ise en yüksek Osmaniye'de %19 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Diğer illerde ise sırasıyla Kahramanmaraş'ta %6 Adana'da %4.8, Hatay'da %0.4, Mersin'de %0.3, Gaziantep %0.01 ve Kilis'te %0 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Zararlının beslenmesi sonucunda her bir meyvede açmış olduğu delik sayısı 1–28 arasındadır. 2009 yılında ise; C. cribripennis en yoğun bulaşıklık oranı Osmaniye'de %30, Adana'da %26, Hatay'da %25 ve Mersin'de %17 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Osmaniye'de C. cribripennis'in meyvede yapmış olduğu zarar ortalama %21.5'dir. Diğer illerde C. cribripennis'in meyvelerdeki zarar oranları sırasıyla Adana'da %3.7, Hatay'da %2 ve Mersin'de %0.9 olarak belirlenmiştir. Zararlının beslenmesi sonucunda her bir meyvede açmış olduğu delik sayısı 1–72 arasındadır.
