Abstract
This study discusses the relationship between the financial sector development and the unemployment in the case of Turkey. Using the multivariate regression analysis method, it was ascertained that the results showed that money supply M2/GDP increased the unemployment rate and Market Stock Value/GDP decreased the unemployment rate in the period of 1985-2010. Additionally, others financial sector indicators; It was reached to the point that, domestic credit to private sector/ GDP and Total Financial Assets/GDP decreased the unemployment rate. Though, the index of coefficient getting from these two variable give information about the general tendency, it is obvious that the results of coefficient are not statistically reliable.
Abstract
Bu çalışma, finansal sektör gelişimi ve işsizlik arasındaki ilişkiyi Türkiye örneğinde incelemektedir. 1985-2010 arası dönemde çok değişkenli regresyon analizi yöntemi kullanarak yapılan çalışma bulgularına göre işsizlik oranı üzerinde finansal sektör göstergesi M2 para arzının gayri safi yurt içi hasılaya oranının işsizliği artırdığı ve özel sektör kredi toplamının gayri safi yurt içi hasılaya oranının işsizliği azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca diğer finansal sektör göstergeleri; piyasa hisse senedi değerinin gayri safi yurt içi hasılaya oranı işsizlik oranını arttırırken, toplam mali varlık stokunun gayri safi yurt içi hasılaya oranının işsizliği azalttığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ancak bu iki değişkenden elde edilen katsayıların işareti genel eğilim hakkında bilgi verse de katsayı sonuçlarının istatistiksel olarak güvenilir olmadığı görülmektedir.
