The Effect of Vitamin B12 on Dissociative Identity Disorder

Abstract

Background: Dissociative identity disorder(DID) is defined as a chronic and polysymptomatic dissociative
disorder in modern psychiatry. Vitamin B12 is one of vitamin B complex vitamins act on the various systems
in the body, especially hematological and neurological systems. The aim of our study was to investigate
whether the effects of vitamin B12 on dissociative personality disorder.
Material and methods:Twenty patients with DID were included in the study.
Results: It was investigated that whether vitamin B12 levels were significantly different or not when
compared with the control group.
Conclucion: After the results were evaluated, it was found that there was no significant effect of B12 on
patients with dissociative disorders

B 12 Vitaminin Dissosiyatif Kişilik Bozukluğu Üzerine Etkisi

Abstract

Amaç: Dissosiyatif kimlik bozukluğu modern psikiyatride kronik ve polisemptomatik bir dissosiyatif
bozukluk olarak tanımlanmaktadır. B12 vitamini, B vitamin kompleksi vitaminlerinden olup, vücutta başta
hematolojik ve nörolojik sistem olmak üzere çeşitli sistemlere etki eder. Çalışmamızda B12 vitamininin
dissosiyatif kişilik bozukluğu üzerine etkisinin olup olmadığını araştırmayı planladık.
Materyal Metod: DKB olan 20 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi.
Bulgular: Bunların B12 düzeyleri kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırılarak anlamlı fark olup olmadığı bulundu.
Sonuç: Hastalığın B12 vitamini düzeyleri ile anlamlı ilişkisinin olmadığı tespit edildi.
