Türk Arap Atında Yarış Performansı İçin Varyans Komponentleri ve Genetik Yönelimin Tahmini

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, Türk Arap atında yarış performansı özellikleri için varyans komponentleri ve genetik
yönelim tahmin edilmiştir. Bunun için Türkiye’de 1990-2016 arasında koşan 8321 atın 35929 yarış sonucu
değerlendirilmiştir. Varyans komponentleri REML, damızlık değerler BLUP Animal modelde MTDFREML ile
tahmin edilmiştir. En iyi yarış zamanı ve yarış hızı üzerine mesafe, cinsiyet, pist tipi, yaş, yarış yılı ve şehir etkileri
önemlidir. Belirlenen modellerde en iyi yarış süresi ve hız için kalıtım derecesi (h2) sırasıyla 0.05 ve 0.07 tahmin
edilmiştir. Aynı özellikler için tekrarlanma dereceleri (r) ise sırasıyla 0.06 ve 0.07 tahmin edilmiştir. Toplam gelir,
yıllık ortalama yarış başına gelir ve tabela oranları için kalıtım dereceleri sırasıyla; 0.12, 0.18 ve 0.84 tahmin
edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre bu populasyonda en iyi yarış süresi ve hız için seleksiyonla genetik ilerleme elde
etmenin zor olacağı söylenebilir. Bununla birlikte gelir özellikleri için sınırlı düzeyde ilerleme sağlama imkânı
varken, tabela oranı için oldukça iyi düzeyde genetik ilerleme sağlanabilir. Aygırlar ve kısraklar yönünden tahmin
edilen genetik yönelimin dalgalı bir seyir izlediği ve seleksiyonda isabet oranının azaldığı görülmüştür.
