ÜNİVERSİTE KAMPÜSLERİNDE PEYZAJ TASARIMI; NİĞDE ÖMER HALİSDEMİR ÜNİVERSİTESİ ÖRNEĞİ

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 113 - 123, 31.12.2023

Abstract

LANDSCAPE DESIGN IN UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES; NIGDE OMER HALISDEMIR UNIVERSITY EXAMPLE

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 113 - 123, 31.12.2023

Abstract

University campuses provide our social activities with health, sports and cultural facilities, and our recreational activities with open and green areas in addition to education and training services,. Open and green spaces, with their aesthetic and functional features, serve as ecological habitats for various living species while offering individuals opportunities for relaxation and recreational activities. Within this context, the open and unused spaces on campuses should be transformed into open and green areas, considering the functions provided by such spaces. In this regard, the profession of landscape architecture is essential, requiring expertise in both plant design, selecting plants that align with climate and ecological requirements, and designing landscape construction materials for structural areas with considerations for ergonomics, economics, and aesthetic functions. However, there is a lack of information or a gap in the literature regarding the application of landscape design projects in university campuses. In this study, the landscape design process was carried out by evaluating landscape design criteria, elements and principles in a determined area on Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Campus, and the project outputs were applied to the campus area.
