SARS-COV-2 ENFEKSİYONLU BİREYLERİN BESLENME YÖNETİMİ İÇİN ESPEN UZMAN GÖRÜŞLERİ VE REHBERİ

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemisinin ortaya çıkması, dünya çapında hastalara ve sağlık sistemlerine benzeri görülmemiş bir zorluk getirmekte ve tehdit oluşturmaktadır. Yoğun bakım ünitesi (YBÜ) yönetimi gerektiren akut solunum yolu komplikasyonları COVID-19 hastalarında önemli bir morbidite ve mortalite nedenidir. En kötü sonuçların ve yüksek ölüm oranlarının; bağışıklık yetersizliği olan yani yaşlı yetişkinleri, polimorbid ve yetersiz beslenenleri kapsadığı bildirilmektedir. Yoğun bakımda kalış, özellikle uzun süren kalışlar, iskelet kası kütlesi ve işlevinin kaybı ile birlikte malnütrisyonun iyi bilinen bir nedenidir, bu da yoğun bakımdan taburcu olduktan sonra uzun süre düşük yaşam kalitesi, güçsüzlük ve morbiditeye yol açabilir. Yetersiz beslenmenin önlenmesi, teşhisi ve tedavisi rutin olarak COVID-19 hastalarının tedavisine dahil edilmelidir. Bu yazıda; Avrupa Klinik Beslenme ve Metabolizma Derneği’nin (ESPEN), YBÜ’de yatan veya daha büyük yaş ve polimorbiditesi olan COVID-19 hastalarının beslenme yönetimi için önerdiği yetersiz beslenme ve hastanın hayatta kalması üzerine odaklanan 10 pratik görüşü yer almıştır.
