In this study, Aconogonon (A. alpinum), Bistorta (B. carnea and B. officinalis) and Fallopia (F. convolvulus and F. dumetorum) taxa were examined in detail in terms of macro and micromorphology properties of leaves and taxonomically evaluated. The studies were carried out using light microscopy (IM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) on plant materials collected from the natural habitats of the species in june-october between 2021 and 2022 and stored in the Herbarium of the Department of Biology of Recep Tayyip Erdogan University. It was determined that the shape of leaves was broadly or narrowly lanceolate, ovate and cordate in all taxa examined. The leaves were observed as amphistomatic in the taxa of Aconogonon and Bistorta, and hypostomatic in Fallopia species. At the same time, it was determined that the epicuticular wax layer on the adaxial surface of the leaves was striate and striate-granulate, while it was striate, granulate, striate-granulate and crystal on the abaxial surfaces, and it was also revealed that these features make a significant contribution to the differentiation of the taxa examined using numerical analyses.
