Publication Process

PUBLICATION PROCESS

The Journal of Fungus is published twice a year. When requested from events such as congresses or symposia, the third issue is published as a special issue when approved by the Editor-in-Chief.
The article is prepared by the author in accordance with the journal rules and uploaded to the system.
In the preliminary evaluation in the system, whether the article is suitable for the journal in terms of subject, form and language is decided by the Editor-in-Chief.
The article accepted in the preliminary evaluation is processed. If the article is not suitable or has sections that do not comply with the rules of the journal, it is returned to the author for correction.
The editor-in-chief can personally carry out the evaluation process, or he can appoint a field editor.
The chief editor or the field editor appoints at least two reviewers for the article. The article is sent to the reviewers with the evaluation form without the knowledge of the author. The reviewers upload their evaluations about the article and the assessment form to the system within maximum 30 days. If there is a rejection opinion in the reviewer's recommendations, a new reviewer is appointed and a response is requested within a maximum of 15 days. If the new reviewer also recommends a rejection decision, the article is returned to the author with a rejection decision.
By evaluating the opinions of the reviewers, one of the decisions of rejection, acceptance, major or minor correction is made by the Editor-in-Chief. In the articles where the Editor-in-Chief is the author, the field editor takes the decision.
The article that is decided to be corrected is sent to the author for revision. After the author makes the revision, he uploads the article to the system in its new form. Manuscripts that have not been adequately revised can be sent back to the author. Manuscripts for which major corrections are requested are sent back to the reviewers after they come from the author. In the articles for which minor revision is requested, if the revision is found sufficient by the editor-in-chief, an acceptance decision is made.
If there is a field editor, he notifies the chief editor of his decision. The chief editor evaluates the recommendations of the reviewer and the field editor and makes his decision about the article.

The works submitted to our journals are first judged grammatically. After this phase, articles are sent two reviewers. If necessary, the third reviewer is assessed. In the publication of works, a decision is made by evaluating the level of contribution to science and readers within the criteria specified in the writing rules. Reviewers are requested to submit their assessments within 30 days at the latest. The reviewers' evaluations and the answers to these evaluations are reviewed by the editor and it is decided whether the work will be published or not.
