A new record of the genus Toxoneura Macquart, 1835 (Diptera: Pallopteridae) and contributions to the current fauna of Türkiye

Abstract

Pallopteridae Loew, 1862 is one of the smallest families within the Tephritoidea superfamily, and it is well known in the Palearctic Region. This family has been reported from many countries in Europe by several authors. Specimens were collected from Ardahan Province in Türkiye in 2022. According to the results, Toxoneura ephippium (Zetterstedt, 1848) is recorded for the first time in Türkiye. Also new faunistic record of Palloptera ustulata Fallen, 1820 from Ardahan province. The zoogeographic distribution, as well as the figures of the wing and adult of the species, are included in the paper.
