A New Allium (Amaryllidaceae; Allium sect. Allium) Taxon from Eastern Anatolia, Türkiye

Abstract

Allium affine subsp. elazigense subsp. nov. ( Turkish: Elazığ wild onion), which has been collected from Karakoçan District (Elazığ-Türkiye), has been defined as new subspecies for the scientific world. New subspecies; it differs from the typical subspecies in some features such as its leaves being scabrid and wider , its perigon being green, its tepals being longer and retuse at the apex. Allium affine subsp. elazigense grows mostly in oak forest openings at 1400-1500 m . This newly defined subspecies; description, ecological preferences, distribution map and photographs were given.
