Yaygın Fiğ (Vicia sativa L.) Hat Ve Çeşitlerinde Bakla Olgunluk Döneminin Hasat Sonrası Tohum Çimlenme Parametreleri Üzerindeki Etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, 27 yaygın fiğ (Vicia sativa L.) hat ve çeşidine ait bakla olgunluk dönemlerinin hasat sonrası tohum çimlenme parametreleri üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Tesadüf blokları deneme desenine göre üç tekerrürlü olarak yürütülen tarla çalışmasından elde edilen baklalar iki farklı olgunluk aşamasında hasat edilmiştir: Parselin %50'sinin sarardığı dönem sarı bakla (yp) ve %50'sinin kahverengileştiği dönem kahverengi bakla (bp) olgunluk dönemi olarak tanımlanmıştır. Kontrollü koşullarda 20 ± 0.5 °C yürütülen çimlenme çalışmasında son çimlenme yüzdesi (FGP), çimlenme hızı ve çimlenme homojenite parametreleri belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar, sarı bakla olgunluğunda hasat edilen baklalarda bakla yaş ağırlığı ve onlara ait tohumlarda FGP değerinin daha yüksek olduğunu, bp aşamasında hasat edilen baklalarda ise bakla başına tohum sayısının daha fazla olduğunu göstermiştir. En yüksek FGP değeri (%91.25) TA1 ve TA2 hatlardan elde edilirken, TA12 hattı en düşük (%41.25) FGP değerini vermiştir. Temel bileşenler analiz sonuçları, bp ilişkili çimlenme parametrelerinin, yp aşamasındakilerle negatif korelasyon içinde olduğunu göstermiştir. Hatlar ve çeşitler, bakla olgunluk aşaması ve çimlenme parametrelerine göre iki ayrı grupta kümelenmiştir. Sonuçlar yaygın fiğde erken ve homojen bir çimlenmeye bağlı olarak daha iyi bir fide gelişiminin sağlanması için baklaların sarı bakla olgunluk döneminde hasat edilmesi gerektiğini göstermiştir.

The Seed Pod Maturity and its Impact on Post-Harvest Germination Parameters in Common Vetch (Vicia sativa L.) Lines and Cultivars

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of pod maturity stages on the post-harvest seed germination parameters of 27 common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) lines and cultivars. The field experiment was conducted using a completely randomized block design with three replications. The pods were harvested at two distinct maturity stages: yellow pod (yp) and brown pod (bp), defined as the points when 50% of the plot reached yellowing and browning, respectively. The germination experiment was conducted at 20 ± 0.5 °C, and final germination percentage (FGP), germination rate, and the span of germination were determined. The seeds harvested at the yp maturity provided higher pod fresh weights and FGP, whereas the bp provided significantly higher number of seeds per pod. While the highest FGP (91.25%) was recorded in lines TA1 and TA2, the lowest value (41.25%) was observed in line TA12. Principal component analysis concluded that germination parameters associated with the bp stage were negatively correlated with those of the yp stage. The lines and cultivars were clustered into two distinct groups based on the pod maturity stages and germination parameters. The results suggested that the common vetch should be harvested at the yp maturity stage to promote an early and even seed germination followed by a better seedling growth. Highlights: Harvesting at the yellow pod maturity stage promotes an early and even seed germination in common vetch.
