Determination of Factors Affecting The Receiving Drip Irrigation Support of Producers in Antalya Province

Abstract

This study was conducted with producers who received and did not receive drip irrigation support in Antalya province. The descriptive characteristics of both producer groups were evaluated and the factors affecting the status of receiving drip irrigation support were examined. Data were collected by face-to-face surveys conducted with 62 producers who received drip irrigation subsidies and 62 producers who did not receive drip irrigation subsidies. Descriptive statistics such as average, percentage, cross tables were used for data analysis, while Binary Logistic Regression Analysis was used for determining the factors affecting the status of receiving drip irrigation support. The research results showed that, the agricultural experience of the producers, number of family members, animal production income, crop production income, total land size, irrigated land size, agricultural insurance statistically different for the groups receiving and not receiving drip irrigation support. Result of binary logistic regression analysis indicated that the number of family members, total cultivated land size, irrigated land size and animal production incomes were effective on receiving drip irrigation support.
