Abstract

In this study, broiler diet was supplemented with 0
(control), 0.3 and 0.6% and dry yeast (Saccharomyces
cerevisiae
) and their effects on growth performance body weight, and feed
conversion ratio in broiler chicken were investigated weekly. One day old Ross
308 broiler chicks were divided into nine groups (40 birds for each group)
randomly. The first three groups were fed on diet supplemented with 0.3% dry
yeast. Second groups were fed on diet supplemented with 0.6% dry yeast and
other there groups were used as control. Groups were separated by knitted fence
and floored area was formed 4 square meters. Four different type commercial
diets (starter, grower, broiler and finisher) were used in the experiment.
Feeds weighed (10 kg) separately and spread on polyethylene with 2-3 cm in
thickness. Measured 30 g and 60 g dried yeast was added on the feed and mixed.
At the end of the experiment, there was no significant difference between body
weight of the groups (P> 0.05). At the end of 6 weeks, final live weights in
control, 0.3% and 0.6% dry yeast supplemented groups were 2597.7, 2654.9 and
2568.4 g, respectively. There was no significant difference between the groups
in terms of feed conversion ratio (P> 0.05). At the end of 6 weeks, the feed
conversion rates in the control, 0.3% and 0.6% dry yeast supplemented groups
were 1.64, 1.69 and 1.68, respectively. It can be concluded that dietary
supplementation of dry yeast did not change growth performance in broiler
chicks.

Year 2018, Volume: 21 Issue: 5, 751 - 756, 31.10.2018

Abstract

Denemede her grup
