Throughout Balıkesir province, the most common weed seed found in wheat
product was Sinapis arvensis L.
(77.53 seeds/kg) in terms of number of seeds, whereas Hordeum vulgare L. (0.7034 gr/kg) was the weed seed with the
largest weight. In Çanakkale province the most frequent weed seed found in
wheat product was G. aparine (35.18
seeds/kg) followed by S. arvensis, In
terms of weight, the most frequent weed seed found in wheat product was H. vulgare (0.558 gr/kg).overall, 45 different weed seeds belonging to 15
families were determined in wheat product. In the province of
Çanakkale, it was found that an average of 180,59 weed seeds with a weight of
2,9819 gr was mixed with 1 kg of wheat product. At the end of the study, it was determined that an
average of 207 weed seeds with a weight of 3.06 gr was found in a 1 kg of wheat
product in Balıkesir province. The research was conducted in 2015 with wheat samples (1 kg each) taken
from 93 different locations in order to determine the species and amount of
weed seeds in the samples in Balıkesir and Canakkale provinces.
