This study was
conducted in micro plots in 2014-2016 to determine the pathogenicity of two root knot-nematodes
species, Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica on two olive cultivars (Gemlik and Manzalia) and two almonds rootstocks (Gadaman and GF-677) in micro
plots. Micro plot trial was designed as randomized complete block design with
three different nematode inoculum densities (0, 1000, 2000) L2/pot and
replicated five times. GF-677 almond rootstock was found to be resistant to M. incognita and M. javanica. Galling indices of GF-677 were 3.80 and 3.60 and egg
mass indices were 4.35 and 4.50 for M.
incognita and M. javanica,
respectively (P<0.05). It is
important to inform the local farmers about the susceptible hosts found in the
study to minimize the crop loses in the future.
