Contribution to The Knowledge of Carabodid Oribatid Mites (Acari, Oribatida, Carabodidae) of Turkey, With Ecological And Zoogeographical Remarks

Abstract

Seven oribatid mites of the family Carabodidae Koch, 1837 namely, Austrocarabodes (s.str.) ensifer (Sellnick, 1931), A. (s.str.) foliaceisetus foliaceisetus Krivolutsky, 1971, Carabodes (s.str.) labyrinthicus (Michael, 1879), C. (s.str.) pirinensis Kunts, 1961, C. (s.str.) rugosior Berlese, 1916, C. (Flexa) djaparidzae Murvanidze and Weigmann, 2007 and C. (Flexa) dubius Kulijev, 1968 were given with their scanning electron microscope images from Turkey. Apart from A. (s.str.) ensifer, other six taxa are new records for the oribatid fauna of Turkey. The taxa were also evaluated in terms of ecological and zoogeographical. An identification key for Turkish carabodid genera and species is also provided.
