Bu çalışmada, yerel bir diatom toprağı olan BGN-1'in, ergin Alman hamamböceklerine (Blatella gemanica (L.)) karşı beton, seramik ve parke yüzeyler üzerindeki ölümcül etkileri araştırılmıştır. Bu üç farklı yüzey üzerinde, B. germanica erginlerii 6 gün boyunca 2.5, 5, 10 ve 20 g/m2 dozlarda BGN-1 kodlu diatom toprağına maruz bırakıldı. Tüm yüzey uygulamalarında BGN-1 diatom toprağı maruz kalma süresi ve diatom dozlarının, B. germanica erginlerinin ölüm oranlarında önemli etkiye neden olduğu görülmüştür. BGN-1 diatom toprağı 2.5 g/m2 dozunda tüm uygulama yüzeylerinde en düşük böcek ölüm etkisine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. 2.5 g/m2 BGN-1 dozu beton yüzeyde 6 gün sonra % 100 B. germanica ergin ölümüne neden olurken ve seramik ve parke yüzeyde dördüncü günün sonunda % 100 ölüme neden olmuştur. Diğer yandan, 5 ve 10 g/m2 BGN-1 dozları ikinci günün sonunda tüm yüzeylerde % 100 B. germanica ölümüne neden olurken, en yüksek 20 g/m2 BGN-1 dozu uygulanan tüm yüzeylerde ilk gün sonunda%100 B. germanica ölümüne neden olmuştur. Genel olarak, BGN-1 diatom toprağının B. germanica erginlerine karşı ölüm aktivitesinin her üç yüzeyde de benzer olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın sonunda, BGN-1 kodlu Türk diatom toprağının, medikal bir zararlı olan B. germanica ile mücadelede iyi bir alternatif olabileceği ortaya çıkmıştır.

Mortality Effects of Turkish Diatomaceous Earth Coded BGN-1 Against German Cockroach (Blatella germanica) Adults
In this study, the mortality effects of BGN-1, a local diatomaceous earth, on concrete, ceramic parquet surfaces against adult German cockroaches (Blatella gemanica (L.)) were investigated. B. germanica adults were exposed to BGN-1 coded diatom soil at 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 g/m2 doses on these three different surfaces for 6 days. In all surface applications of BGN-1 diatom soil, exposure time and diatom doses were found to have a significant effect on mortality rates of B. germanica adults. It was observed that BGN-1 diatomaceous earth at a dose of 2.5 g/m2 had the lowest insect mortality effect on all application surfaces. While 2.5 g/m2 BGN-1 dose caused 100% mortality of B. germanica adult on concrete surface after 6 days, it caused 100% mortality at the end of the fourth day on ceramic and parquet surfaces. On the other hand, 5 and 10 g/m2 BGN-1 doses caused 100% B. germanica mortality on all surfaces at the end of the second day, while the highest 20 g/m2 BGN-1 dose caused 100% B. germanica mortality at the end of the first day on all applied surfaces It was determined that the mortality activity of BGN-1 diatomaceous earth against B. germanica adults was similar on all three surfaces. At the end of this study, it was revealed that Turkish diatom earth with the code BGN-1 can be a good alternative in the control against a medical pest, B. germanica.
